Aspect and Matrix

The Aspect and Matrix Online Workshop is available anytime exclusively online. The course is made up of a series of how-to videos, quizzes, and a final project. Although the course is designed to be accomplished in one week, you are given six weeks to successfully complete the training from the time you begin. In order to be eligible for this training you must be licensed to purchase the Aspect product family. Prerequisites:

The workshop is a hands-on workshop and you will be required to make physical connections to the products to make a small network.

In order to complete the exercises, quizzes and final exam you will need the following:
  • Matrix area controller
  • Aspect Studio (with a valid license)
  • SBC-VAV controller (PUP) or NB-VAV (BACnet) controller
  • SBC-STAT

    In addition, you will need to have:

  • Completed the Unitary/SBC Controller and/or BACnet workshop or have applicable controller experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Internet Explorer or other Internet browser software.
  • Knowledge of networking with regards to IP addressing and configuration of network components of Windows.

    Workshop Description:
    The Aspect and Matrix workshop is an online workshop. All workshop material is presented through individual videos including features and functions of the Aspect and Matrix variants, exercises, quizzes, and final exam.

    The Aspect and Matrix workshop begins with two Introduction videos. The Introduction videos explain different aspects of the workshop such as how to get started, or the steps required to successfully complete the workshop. The Introduction videos also provide an overview of the product variants used in the Aspect and Matrix workshop.

    The remaining individual videos cover the hardware features of the Matrix area controllers, and the AspectFT Facility Server, and the software features of the Aspect Studio, AspectFT Facility, and AspectFT Enterprise software, such as how to create graphic screens, or how to create block-base programs, or how to create and view alarms and trends, which includes emailing alarms to a cell phone, and how to create components and projects.

    After the successful completion of the class, each student will be able to do the following:

  • Understand the Aspect and Matrix Family architectural solutions
  • Recognize how to best utilize each of the architectural solutions
  • Install and license the Aspect Studio software
  • Install and license the Matrix and AspectFT Facility
  • Connect controllers to the Matrix
  • Configure the Matrix to communicate to the controllers
  • Create a project, which includes how to create graphic applications, block-based programs, alarm and trend applications and components
  • Understand the basics of using a MySQL database
  • Create schedules using Outlook 2007
  • Deploy a project to a Matrix or AspectFT Facility
  • View graphic applications via an Internet browser software package

    If you do not have Toolbox access and are a current AAM Solution Integrator register now!

    End-users must request training through their respective Solution Integrators (SI).
