BACnet Online
The BACnet Online Workshop is available anytime exclusively online. The course is made up of a series of how-to videos, quizzes, and a final exam. Although the course is designed to be accomplished in one week, you are given eight weeks to successfully complete the training from the time you begin.
Prerequisites:
The workshop is a hands-on workshop and you will be required to make physical connections to the products to make a small network. In order to complete the exercises, quizzes and final exam you will need the following:
NB-Pro (with a valid license)
Matrix-xxx or NB-Link
NB-GPC1 controller
NB-VAV controller
NB-ASCe controller
SBC-STAT3
SSB-FI1 Module
Precon Type III Thermistor
In addition, you will need to have:
Experience with Microsoft Windows
Knowledge of networking with regards to IP addressing and configuration of network components of Windows.
Workshop Description:
The BACnet workshop begins with a product line overview followed by a discussion on the many different American Auto-Matrix BACnet system architecture choices, and an orientation into the BACnet history and protocol. Next the controller hardware installation, RS-485 network wiring and termination, controller input and output wiring, controller software configuration, and NB-Pro operations are discussed. The workshop finishes up with a discussion on Sage Programming language (SPL), and hands-on exercises. The BACnet workshop discusses the following primary products: NB-GPC1, NB-VAVta, SBC-FI1 Modulue, SBC-STAT, NB-ASCe, Matrix-xxx or NB-Link
and NB-Pro.
After the successful completion of the class, each student will be able to do the following:
- Understand the American Auto-Matrix product line and various architectural solutions.
- Understand the basics of the BACnet Protocol
- Recognize and configure various American Auto-Matrix BACnet network configurations
- Correctly install and wire inputs and outputs, as well as configure Native BACnet controllers
- Understand the general concepts of the American Auto-Matrix PID, Thermostatic, and Motor Control loops
- Use NB-Pro software to commission and troubleshoot the Native BACnet controller
- Write basic SPL programs
