Aspect and Matrix (in-house) Workshop
Prerequisites:
Successful completion of the Unitary/SBC Controller or BACnet workshops or have applicable controller experience (qualified by the instructor)
Experience using Microsoft Windows
Experience using Microsoft Internet Explorer
Knowledge of networking with regards to IP addressing and configuration of network components of Windows
Workshop Description:
The in-house Aspect/Matrix workshop begins with an introduction into the AspectFT Family of products and a discussion on the different available system architecture options, such as when to use a Matrix area controller and when to use an Aspect Facility or Aspect Enterprise server. This is followed by a discussion on what represents a small, modem, medium, SDP and large installation, instructions on how to install and license Aspect Studio software, a Matrix area controller, Aspect Facility server and Aspect Enterprise server, an overview of the Matrix area controller and Aspect Facility server’s hardware and software, a discussion on MySQL, including what it is, how it works, and tips on how to use the MySQL user interface phpMyAdmin software to help you write custom scripts in an Aspect Studio project. The workshop utilizes live instructor demonstrations, student exercises, and discussions on best practices to follow when creating applications and components for projects in a Matrix area controller and Facility Server. The applications and components created in the workshop projects for the Matrix area controller and Facility Server include: a heat pump, boiler, BACnet Air Handler (includes animated heating coiling), PUP VAV component (includes animated damper), Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, SDP, FTNet retrieving BACnet values from a Matrix application, FTNet retrieving a pseudo value from a Matrix application, Scheduling (using Google Calendar and Outlook 07), Alarming, Trending component, and a navigation component.
The students are given the Matrix area controller and Aspect Facility Server projects they created in the workshop to take with them when they complete the workshop. They also are given a CD to take with them that has a sample project created by the AAM Engineering Team, product manuals, and other useful files.
After the successful completion of the class, each student will be able to do the following:
Understand the AspectFT Family of Products architectural solutions
Recognize how to best utilize each of the architectural solutions
Install and license the Aspect Studio software
Install and license the Matrix area controller, AspectFT Facility, and AspectFT Enterprise servers
Configure the Matrix area controller to communicate to controllers
Create a project, which includes how to create graphic, block-based program, alarm, trend and schedule applications and components
Create a project for an AspectFT Facility and/or AspectFT Enterprise server to communicate to the controllers connected to one or more Matrix area controllers
Understand the basics of a MySQL database
Create schedules using Outlook 2007
Understand how to deploy a project to a Matrix area controller, AspectFT Facility and AspectFT Enterprise Servers
Use the products with proficiency in the field
