Corporate Background American Auto-Matrix was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. in 1979 as Innovative Technology, Inc (ITI), and began as a custom engineering and consulting group manufacturing specialty electronic equipment for European customer base. In 1982 the company became American Auto-Matrix, Inc. and introduced the AI2100 Building Brain®. It was the first facilities automation system in the world to offer an open communications protocol, generation-to-generation compatibility, distributed intelligence, direct digital control (DDC), and object-oriented programming. Through the years American Auto-Matrix has positioned itself as a worldwide leader in providing “Smart Building Solutions”®. AAM provides solutions for HVAC, Access, Lighting, Light Process and Laboratory and Fume Hood control as well as unparalleled support, service and training facilities. In December 2002, American Auto-Matrix was purchased by Jordan Acquisition Group, LLC, a group of private U.S. investors led by the company’s C.E.O., Paul Jordan. American ownership has again aligned corporate direction and strategy with the desire to become the leader once again in the development of technology and products for the building automation industry. AAM’s focus has shifted to long-term rather than short-term goals, allowing for more emphasis to be placed on new product developments and dealer relationships.
