DIGITAL CONTROL
The majority of existing fume hood control systems use analog electric control technology. The Auto-Flow system provides direct digital control (DDC), with faster response times than conventional control systems. Every 50 milliseconds, the Auto-Flow hood controller will read an input, calculate an adjustment, and affect the output. That equals 20 complete process loops every second!

"SMART" CONTROL
Sash position-based fume hood control systems calculate the actual size of the opening when the sash is moved, and then select a corresponding air flow requirement to maintain the proper face velocity. This method has no way of determining changes to the open hood face area caused by materials or objects inside or outside the fume hood, which could result in erroneous volume calculations.

Auto-Flow provides a more direct, more precise, faster, less mechanically complicated method. Auto-Flow controllers actually sense the air velocity through the face of the fume hood, as well as the space pressure in the laboratory. This method provides measured sensory input and feedback for the digital control programs, which results in safer, more energy efficient operation of the hood, laboratory, or clean room...at a reduced cost.

NETWORKED CONTROL
The Auto-Flow system provides stand-alone control for individual laboratories and/or fume hoods. The system can also network with the complete range of American Auto-Matrix facilities and control products - to share information and provide centralized access, data acquisition, monitoring, and alarming. We can provide a complete laboratory control system for pressure, humidity, and temperature that integrates into your overall building automation or facilities management system.

INTEGRATED CONTROL
The Auto-Flow system is optimally designed for both retrofit installation and for factory installation by the fume hood supplier. The components are smaller and less complex to install and commission than other fume hood control systems. The Auto-Flow system can be economically installed on all hood types - walk-in, as well as both horizontal and vertical rising sash.
